This module will offer an interdisciplinary framework for understanding global environmental governance and sustainable development. Through lectures and interactive seminars, the module will address questions of North-South differences in environmental and development work but also go beyond these to understand the politics of how bureaucrats, NGOs and villagers across these divides work together in shifting assemblages. Keeping in mind the sustainable development goals, we will take up questions of how to work across disciplines and cultural divides for sustainability with social justice.
